What Is NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy?

NeuroStar Advanced Therapy is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-drug treatment for major depression. NeuroStar Advanced Therapy uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI, to reignite dormant synapses in the brain and help your brain function the way it was meant to.

NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy is not a drug, “shock therapy”, or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for depression without the side effects of medication.

  • Non Invasive

Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS) is a non-invasive, non-drug, safe, and effective therapy that treats depression at the source.

  • Medication Free

TMS therapy is a drug-free treatment for depression. It uses magnetic pulses to target depression at its source in the brain.

  • No Medication Side Effects

TMS Therapy is well-tolerated, non-disruptive, and free of the common side effects associated with medications.

  • 19 Minute Sessions

NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy is an outpatient treatment that takes as little as 19 minutes per session.

Is NeuroStar Advanced Therapy Right for Me?

NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy may be right for you if you agree with two or more:

  • Depression symptoms have interfered with my daily life.

  • I am not satisfied with the results I get from depression medication.

  • I have had or worry about side effects from depression medications.

  • I am interested in a proven, non-drug therapy for depression.

While depression medications work for many people, some people still do not feel relief. For hard-to-treat depression where medication is not giving you adequate relief, NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy is a proven and safe depression treatment option.

What Are NeuroStar Treatments Like?

  • Before Treatment

You’ll recline comfortably in the treatment chair. A small, curved magnetic coil will be positioned lightly on your head.

  • During Treatment

NeuroStar Advanced Therapy TMS uses magnetic pulses to help people find relief from their depression symptoms. NeuroStar TMS is non-invasive and does not involve medications or antidepressants.

  • After Treatment

Each treatment takes 19 minutes. You can resume normal activities immediately. Because there are no cognitive effects, you can drive yourself to and from treatment sessions.

What Patients Are Saying

**Outcomes Registry data was published by Sackeim HA, et al. J Affective Disorders, 2020, 277(12):65-74. The outcomes reported represent the subset of study patients for which the CGI-S data was reported before and after an acute course of NeuroStar TMS. Patients were treated under real-world conditions where patients may have been prescribed concomitant depression treatments including medications. “Measurable relief” was defined as a CGI-S score <=3 and “complete remission” was defined as a CGI-S score <=2 at the end of treatment.

***Patients received more than one course of treatment and were treated with standard of care. Standard of care also included medications. CGI-S represents the scale used to define response and remission.

Adult Indications for Use

The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System is indicated for the treatment of depressive episodes and for decreasing anxiety symptoms for those who may exhibit comorbid anxiety symptoms in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from previous antidepressant medication treatment in the current episode.

The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System is intended to be used as an adjunct for the treatment of adult patients suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Important Safety Information
