What is TMS?
TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a proven treatment for major depression. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to those used in an MRI, to stimulate the areas of the brain associated with mood and depression. This can have a lasting effect on neurotransmitter levels, making long-term remission from depression possible for many people.
TMS is not a drug, “shock therapy”, or surgery. It is a non-invasive, outpatient treatment without the side effects commonly associated with medications.
